Quinlan Independent School District selects VIZOR for Chromebook Management and Helpdesk

Quinlan Independent School District, located in Texas, serves approximately 2900 students. Managing the IT needs for the district involves overseeing a substantial number of assets, including around 5000 Chromebooks. Using a combination of existing tools, the district faced significant challenges in efficiently tracking and managing their device inventory, particularly when it came to repairs.

Mike Roberts, IT Director at Quinlan ISD, highlighted the core issue that prompted their search for a new solution. "With roughly 5000 Chromebooks, we have a significant number of devices, and manually tracking repairs efficiently was a major challenge" he explained.

Consolidating device management and helpdesk

In their evaluation process, Quinlan ISD needed a solution that could overcome the limitations of their existing tools. Mike Roberts noted, "We were actively looking for a replacement for our existing Chromebook management tool, which we found to be very basic and hadn't been updated in years". In addition to replacing their out dated Chromebook management tool, VIZOR will also replace their existing asset inventory system. "VIZOR not only addressed our Chromebook management needs but also presented an opportunity to replace our IT asset inventory system. Combining those systems within VIZOR seemed like a much easier and more efficient approach, not to mention the other additional features VIZOR brings." Mike Roberts stated.

Quinlan ISD is particularly looking forward to consolidating their device management and helpdesk requirements. Mike Roberts expressed this key benefit, "What we're most looking forward to is having a combined Chromebook management, asset inventory, and helpdesk tool". Ultimately, the primary objective for implementing VIZOR is focused on improving internal IT operations. "The number one priority for us with this project is making the Chromebook lifecycle management process significantly easier for technical support staff." Mike Roberts emphasized.
