Introducing New IT Asset Lifecycle Processes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VIZOR Introduces New IT Asset Lifecycle Processes

The ITAM & Service Desk solution has new features to help financially dispose of devices

August 20, 2019 (Atlanta, Georgia) – VIZOR today announced new features that streamline new lifecycle processes of IT devices. The features, Repair Tracking, Lemon Assets, Scrap Assets, and new depreciation schemes, will help keep better track of inventory and monitor the value of the devices throughout their life.

VIZOR monitors the number of times an asset is sent to “repair.” VIZOR tracks what part of the asset is being repaired, who is repairing it and how much the repair cost. In addition, if the device is flagged for repair three times, it is marked as a Lemon Asset to help identify assets that need more attention.

“We work with different industries that have different industry standards,” said Dean Bates, Marketing Director at VIZOR, “We are happy to provide out-of-the-box functionality to help streamline all their processes.”

IT assets in VIZOR can now also be permanently deleted with a click of a button. Named Scrap, once the button is pressed, an email is sent to the Finance department to indicate that an asset has been destroyed. In some industries, this replaces the process of flagging a retired asset.

To further streamline the lifecycle of the assets, new depreciation schemes like Degressive 40%, Linear 10%, Straight Line 10 Year and Linear 33%, Straight Line 3-Year have been added. Other notable features include locking a retired asset, so it is unable to be modified, single click to mark a lost asset, and flagging an asset as retired after it has been marked as lost for certain period.

New Chromebook Management Features

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VIZOR’s New Chromebook Management Features

Improved ITAM integration, allocation, and repair functionality for the Education Sector

August 13, 2019 (Atlanta, Georgia) – VIZOR today announced the official launch of new features for improved Chromebook management. Usually used by the education sector, the new features include better integration with Google G suite, allocation of Chromebooks by container, and better tracking of Chromebook repairs, including “lemon” assets.

As Chromebooks are listed in the G suite, users wanted an easy way to update them in their VIZOR solution. Now, it can be done with one click. Another important feature that was included in this summer release was the ability to allocate the assets by containers. It is very common for schools to purchase Chromebooks in crates, for example, and then distribute them to classrooms for teachers to hand out. As a result, the process of allocating Chromebooks in batches is now possible to track in VIZOR.

“VIZOR now reflects specific IT processes in the education sector,” Dean Bates, Marketing Director at VIZOR, exclaimed, “VIZOR is fully equipped, out-of-the-box, for educational institutions and companies that use Chromebooks, and we are very excited for it.”

As students damage the Chromebooks, it was important for users to track repairs. That includes the number of repairs, the type of repair, who is repairing it, and the number of times the device needed repairs, identifying them as “lemon” assets. Plus, VIZOR can chargeback repairs to a specific department, faculty or parent of the student.

The VIZOR team continues to work with the education sector to define best practices in the industry.

New Software License Allocation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Software License Allocation in VIZOR

Making it easy to allocate hundreds of software licenses at a time

July 30, 2019 (Atlanta, Georgia) – VIZOR today announced significant improvements to their Software Asset & License Management module simplifying license allocation and reservations. The improvements will help customers keep better track of who is entitled to what license, across departments and different geographical locations.

Large quantities of software licenses can now be easily allocated to specific users or devices based on the license model of the application. Allocation allows IT departments to clearly identify which users are licensed for specific applications. License allocation also enables VIZOR’s powerful optimization features such as license recycling when employees leave.

In addition to simplifying the license allocation process, VIZOR now permits license reservations. The reservation feature allows organizations to allocate batches of software licenses to departments, specialized projects or locations. The reservations feature enables centralized management and purchasing of software licenses resulting in lower costs from economies of scale. At the same time, department and project managers benefit from the ability to allocate software licenses to users as needed.

“We’re thrilled to announce significant improvements to the license allocation and reservation functionality in VIZOR,” said Dean Bates, Marketing Director at VIZOR, “Small to large organizations can further benefit from reduced costs by optimizing their software purchasing”
